The country’s first bank, Kapital Bank, has been honored with seven awards by the Azerbaijan Banks Association (ABA) and the global payment technology company Visa. The awards were presented in recognition of the bank’s contribution to the development of digital payments, implementation of innovative solutions, and expansion of collaboration within the financial sector.
Among the awards, Kapital Bank’s project aimed at expanding digital payment capabilities in public transportation was recognized in the categories “Leadership in advancing tokenization technologies in public transport” and “Outstanding contribution to the development of card acceptance in public transport”. Thanks to the technological support implemented by the bank in cooperation with K Group LLC (BakıKart), contactless payment (NFC) technology has been introduced across all bus routes operating in Baku, including those managed by BakuBus LLC, as well as at all stations of the Baku Metro CJSC.
The bank also received the award “Loyalty innovation: Launch of Bir Bonus” for introducing the Birbank Bonus program, which delivers a personalized customer experience, flexibility, and enhanced convenience for online shopping.
The She’s Next business card, launched to support the development of women’s entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan, was recognized with the award “Promoting Diversity and inclusion: Launch of the first co-branded card for women entrepreneurs – She’s Next.” The card enables women entrepreneurs to manage their finances freely in three currencies – Azerbaijani manat, US dollars, and euros. It also provides access to a range of exclusive privileges, rewards, and bonus opportunities.
Kapital Bank was further recognized with the award “Launch of the new All Airlines Birbank Miles Card” for its innovative card product designed to meet the needs of travel enthusiasts. Cardholders can earn miles through their everyday purchases and redeem them for airline tickets with various carriers.
The bank’s exclusive services and benefits for premium customers also received recognition. In this regard, Kapital Bank was awarded in the category “Successful partnership in Premium Banking”.
In addition, the bank received the award “Entrepreneurial innovation: Exclusive Launch of the Visa Sahibkar Card” for introducing an innovative solution that helps entrepreneurs manage their finances more conveniently and efficiently.
